Il se passe un phénomène étrange dans le top ventes de livres de fiction depuis quelques années. De jeunes autrices s’y retrouvent très régulièrement, au point d’égaler ou de dépasser les indéboulonnables Guillaume Musso et Virginie Grimaldi. Pourtant, on ne trouve pas de critiques de leurs ouvrages, ni leur portrait dans les médias traditionnels. Et leurs livres sont souvent absents des librairies généralistes. Une sorte d’omniprésence invisible. Ces jeunes autrices écrivent de la romance. Un genre héritier des romans Harlequin qui connaît une seconde jeunesse depuis le début des années 2010 dans le sillage de romans comme Cinquante nuances de Grey ou la saga After. Il y est question d’amour. Et ça cartonne, en particulier auprès des jeunes femmes, au point de tirer vers le haut les chiffres globaux de l’industrie du livre. Alors pourquoi ce désintérêt des relais habituels de l’actualité littéraire pour ces livres ? Sont-ils mauvais ? Ou subissent-ils une forme de mépris injustifié ?
