Steve Scaffidi was back! He and fellow WTMJ host Steve Scaffidi talked about the legacy of the recently departed Pope Francis. Steve and Kristin were joined in-studio by Chris Reader from the Institute for Reforming Government to discuss recent polling on Wisconsin voters after the statewide election from the beginning of April. -They asked Chris about specific motivators for voters in the election and other standout findings. Steve and Kristin talked about United States Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s meltdown during an Easter Egg roll on the White House lawn; a clip of it was played. Steve and Kristin remembered the September 11th, 2001 attacks in New York City and discussed the recent comments made by Senior U.S. Senator from Wisconsin Ron Johnson about the 9/11 conspiracy theories. Steve and Kristin were joined in-studio by attorney Tom Kuzmanovic to talk about the detainment of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, the U.S. Supreme Court’s authority on the matter and what it said about testing the limits of the Donald Trump administration’s power. -They continue their conversation focusing on the Executive branch’s power with U.S. President Trump challenging birthright citizenship. -Closing Arguments: Tom brought up the Alien Enemies Act that Trump had been weaponizing, the broader implications and the act of disappearing people. They talked more about President Trump’s overreach and the potential consequences of recent federal cuts. They closed the show by recognizing this day as Earth Day, Pope Francis’s advocacy for environmentalism and the importance of taking care of the planet.
