“Lies and Homemade Pies” | S1 E4

from Dirty Money Moves: Women in White Collar Crime · host Cloud10

In the previous episode of Dirty Money Moves, we learned about Barry Rothman, Mary Carole’s infamous entertainment lawyer and longtime associate. We also learned that he and Mary Carole had something in common…unbelievable financial troubles. Barry also operated a complex network of foreign bank accounts and Panamanian shell companies, which he allegedly used to hide certain assets. This was the person Mary Carole aligned herself with in 2017 as Bellum Entertainment fell apart. She found herself in desperate need of a ton of money to fend off creditors, and Barry was the man she turned to for help. Shockingly, Mary Carole was so brazen, that she baked homemade pies for bank employees and hand delivered them, just before she pulled off the biggest money grab of her crooked career. That, and Barry would be dead before the bank even realized they’d been scammed. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp.
