Life After Addiction: How to Thrive and Embrace Recovery With Jeremy Cross

from Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast · host Digital Trailblazers

Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In today’s episode, we're going to talk all about addiction, overcoming addiction, and thriving after addiction.Jeremy Cross, born in Langley in May 1993, is a local man from a good family who experienced the harsh realities of addiction. Struggling with fentanyl and crystal addiction for seven years on the streets of Vancouver, Jeremy faced constant battles with the law and became someone he never recognized. Throughout his unimaginable struggles, he held onto the thought, "I'm going to write about this someday if I ever get out of this rabbit hole."Reliving his traumatic experiences was incredibly challenging and emotional, but Jeremy understood that sharing his journey in detail was necessary for readers to connect and understand his pain. He transformed the process of opening old wounds into a therapeutic journey rather than a destructive one.Jeremy never imagined that such things could happen in Vancouver, Canada, but his experiences left him feeling hopeless, lost, and afraid, believing he couldn't escape his situation. Yet, here he is today—sober and thriving. His story is a beacon of hope, aimed at inspiring others, raising awareness about addiction, and helping others understand the complexity of addiction. He wants to educate those who are not familiar with the struggles of addiction, showing them why it's far more complicated than just "making a choice."Jeremy's mission is to educate families and communities dealing with addiction, helping them understand what they can do to help loved ones. He encourages people to avoid judgment, as many homeless addicts have stories that will break your heart, and often, they were once just like anyone else. Now a certified peer support worker, Jeremy is determined to prevent others from going through what he endured, as many do not make it out alive. For anyone going through tough times and needing someone to listen and understand, Jeremy is here. His book is where his story lives, offering support and understanding to those in need.Connect with Jeremyhere: Jeremy Cross Author - FB jerwcross5 - Instagram/X/Tictoc www.jeremycross.ca===================================If you enjoyed this episode, remember to hit the like button and subscribe.
