‘Life After Loss’ With Grief Educator, Lindsay Fernandez

On this episode of The Power of Love Show with TJ & Taj Jackson we welcome special guest, Lindsay Fernandez! Lindsay Fernandez is a Grief Educator, who is passionate about Mental Health and changing the way we as a society look at grief. Lindsay earned her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan College, and is currently working on an autobiography entitled "A Lifetime with Death" which documents her childhood with her mom, who suffered with mental illness, and explores how she have navigated through life after her mother unexpectedly passed away in 2011.   Professionally, Lindsay has 7+ years of experience providing 1:1 and group supportive counseling services to individuals affected by Dementia-related illnesses, Cancer, Parkinson’s disease, & COVID-19. Her work focuses on providing individuals with psycho-education, support, validation, and a community, which has allowed them to gain insight and a deeper understanding of their experiences. This understanding has allowed them to develop effective coping skills but also to feel more hopeful about life and the future. Lindsay’s latest venture has been developing an online platform, (Life After Loss, LLC) where she help individuals that are currently struggling in their grief experience. It can be difficult to know how to cope with life after loss and her mission is to help people feel less isolated in their experience.
