Life...By the Book - Money

Do you realize how often the subject of money management - stewardship - is addressed in scripture? The Bible refers to prayer about 500 times, to faith about 500 times, but to money/possessions over 800 times! 16 of Jesus' 38 parables are concerned in one way or another with the stewardship of money/things. And, that's not counting other "teachable moments" like that in Mark 12:41-44 where Jesus grabbed the opportunity to address the topic of stewardship. The honest truth is that most of us do not handle money very well. That's why we need to review what the Bible says about money. When all else fails, read the directions! And, God has given us some very clear, practical directions in the Bible. Perhaps nowhere are those directions more concise than in the book of Proverbs. Solomon, the wisest and richest man to ever live, wrote over 80 proverbs about stewardship. This lesson looks at many of those under two major headings: money problems and money solutions. There is no greater measure of our spiritual health - no truer indicator of our condition in Christ - than our stewardship. How do you measure up?
