When a company leads with the statement that "Life Flows Through Our Software", I get really intrigued and had to learn more about Dedalus.  What a beautiful statement that illustrates the power and importance of the work we do in healthcare IT.  People's lives really do flow through our software.   To learn more about this vision and mission, I got the chance to talk with Damon Auer, Chief Executive & General Manager of North America at Dedalus.  If you've done health IT work in Europe, you've probably heard of Dedalus.  Those of us in the US probably haven't heard of them until now as Dedalus recently acquired a number of healthcare IT assets from a company we've all heard about DXC Technology.   I sat down with Auer to learn more about Dedalus and the details of which healthcare pieces of DXC Technology were acquired by Dedalus.  Plus, beyond the details of this acquisition, Auer shares his insights and perspectives on how he sees healthcare shifting from patient to consumer (Note: He doesn't like the word patient and doesn't like to even use that word).   Auer also shares with us his thoughts on what a healthcare organization needs to be able to adapt to the changing patient consumer behaviors.  Plus, we discuss healthcare data and whether there's enough data available to create a consumer like experience in healthcare, whether we have access to that data, and what other data would we need access to in order to improve the consumer experience for patients.  Finally, I ask him what the most exciting thing is that he's watching for next.   Learn more about Dedalus: https://www.dedalus.com/na/
