This week on The Pod Charles Cinecast, presented by The Prince Charles Cinema, our hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas try breaking out of prison using a crop duster, just like Eddie Murphy attempted to do in LIFE (1999).This week in the prison section of our BREAKING THE LAW, BREAKING THE LAW arc, we take it easy after the big mamma-jamma excursion into Shawshank Penitentiary, and have a look at one of our favourite underrated 90s movies starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence. The film is full of fun, laughs, and feel good moments, even when pushed up against a horrible story of two men who are wrongfully convicted of murder. The supporting cast features a wrecking crew of top-notch black actors, with Bernie Mac, Anthony Anderson, Bokeem Woodbine, Miguel A. Núñez Jr., Obba Babatundé, and even features the likes of Rick James and Heavy D. With heavy amounts of baseball, good music, great performances, and real life problems peppered inside, we can't say enough good things about this one. It's not perfect, but it's just damn fine. And that's life... Please check it out, and join us for this relaxed episode..."If you ever go to New York, go to Ray's Boom Boom Room"If you enjoy the podcast, leave a Rating and Review!
