Life Of David No.17- Running From Evil

Can you relate to that title? Do you ever feel like evil is right on your tail, like you’re barely one step in front of it? Do you ever notice how we tend to assume if we’re walking with God, things should settle down and go well. That faithfulness should produce safety. We’re comfortable saying God is sovereign, as long as it makes us feel secure. Until the gap between us and the evil chasing us starts closing. Until the options shrink. Until it feels like something is gaining on you. What then? What happens when you’re doing your best to follow Jesus, but life still feels like a manhunt? What happens when you’re faithful, but afraid? You really do believe His promises! But you still feel the pressure! What are we supposed to do when we know we’re walking in obedience… but still feel like we’re losing ground? Today we’re going to look at a moment in David’s life that forces us to confront a hard truth: you can belong to God, trust His promises, and still be on the run. Because if we don’t understand where God is when evil is chasing us, or what He’s doing, we can let fear can rewrite our theology. And after all, who wants fear to be in control of our theology?
