Life of Joseph: A Faithful Story Genesis 50:15-21

Joseph's story in Genesis 50 offers one of the most powerful pictures of forgiveness and healing in all of Scripture. After years of betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment, Joseph looked at the brothers who had wronged him and declared that what they meant for evil, God meant for good. His ability to forgive was not rooted in his circumstances or his emotions. It was rooted in his unshakable belief that God was sovereign over every painful chapter of his life. Three common barriers keep people from experiencing that same healing: allowing pain to define identity, holding onto the role of judge over those who caused harm, and misunderstanding God's purpose in suffering.
