Life Rewired After Brain Injury with Rob Baugh

from Make Your Day Richer · host Richard Wilmore

Did Richard win a podcasting award? Is the Ember Mug fiasco finished? What's the Rosie Memorabilia Moment Of The Day? PLUS Rob Baugh suffered a brain injury 4 years ago. He was knocked out and had a 3-inch laceration to his head. Since that day he suffers daily headaches, memory loss, and anxiety. He spent almost the first 3 years spending any time he could lying in bed asking "why me?" Rob would look for content on YouTube of people like himself talking with each other about the symptoms, but he could never find what he was looking for. After discussing this with his counselor she said "then do it yourself!" Rob told her he didn't think he could do it, but took her challenge and since has been growing his audience on YouTube, allowing other survivors to come on and share their brain injury story. He's talked with caregivers to show their point of view. And he is educating neurotypical people who don't understand what a brain injury is. He also started a support group for survivors to have a safe place to vent their frustrations or share a comical story. Rob's vision is to really shed light on the invisible injury.
