Life Stories... With Dr James Robson

from Life Stories · host Andy Thomas

James is the current Chief Medical Officer at Scottish Rugby. He initially trained as physiotherapist before going in to medicine. He has been to seven Rugby World Cups with the Scotland team, with his first tour being in 1991 in Canada. He told me about how privileged he felt to be working at this level of the sport and even more honoured he was when asked to work on the British & Irish Lions tour in 1993. This turned out to be the first of six consecutive tours, including the win in South Africa, which James says is one of his most memorable experiences. James has transcended the amateur into professional and you can still see how privileged he feels to have worked with many legends of the game. He recently celebrated his 250 cap for the Scottish Rugby Team which is a truly incredible achievement.
