Life Stories... With Ian Gatt

from Life Stories · host Andy Thomas

Ian is Head of Performance Services & Lead Physio at GB Boxing. He explains his decision making on choosing physiotherapy when growing up in his home country. We also discuss his first experience of the Olympics in Athens, supporting local national federations. Ian has been with English Institute of Sport (EIS) for over 14 years, working predominately with GB Boxing. He tells me about the ‘electric’ atmosphere in the GB camps, having been involved as part of the wider team in the massively successful London and Rio Olympics. I personally am a big boxing fan, so it was amazing to see Ian working in the corner of recent high profile professional fights. During this interview, It was great to see his passion and drive shine through when discussing work with GB Boxing, and the wider EIS which supports so many sports in the UK. With the Olympics and possibly huge fights on the horizon, 2021 is set to be an amazing year for boxing in both the amateur and professional ranks!
