My conversation with Elizabeth Disnuke discussing her story of domestic abuse gets more interesting the more we talk. In this episode listen to Elizabeth talk about how important the woman aware support group was to her recovery. She prayed, had a strong relationship with God, but explains how in spite of prayer and God she needed to be around others and know that others were going through the same. I honestly believe that whether you are experiencing domestic abuse or not that these are the type of episodes that we should be comfortable listening to with our boys and girls. The story of her abusive relationship is enough to make you cry as well as look at domestic abuse differently. In this conversation we find out when the abuse first started. Although this happened more than a decade ago Elizabeth remembers the first time like it just happened yesterday. Unfortunately I have met many woman who have been victims of domestic abuse and I am saddened to say that this is definitely one of the most senseless of them all.
