In this lecture, we begin exploring the notion of Jahl, or ignorance and foolishness, in Islam. This is part of the first theme of the Life series, in which we are currently studying knowledge and reason in Islam. The Life series explores the Islamic principles of living in today's complex world. It focuses on the need to rebuild ourselves Islamically, as individuals and communities who contribute positively to society and the world, by understanding our relationships with ourselves, with others, with nature and with God based on the teachings of Islam.The lecture is followed by a short overview of the life of Imam Ali al-Hadi, peace upon him.Delivered by Dr. Sayid Jafar al Hasany, July 2021.
