Life Transformation & Overcoming the Odds | Remi Adeleke

from The Jon Gordon Podcast

Life started out living as Nigerian royalty but took a dramatic turn. After the loss of his father at the age of 5, Remi Adeleke moved to the United States and was raised by his single mother in the Bronx. He eventually started getting into trouble and dealing drugs as a teen.  After his life was threatened from a drug deal that went bad at age 19, Remi decided to join the military with one goal in mind, becoming a Navy SEAL. However, there were a few obstacles he needed to overcome. He couldn't swim, he was thin, and he didn't have the academic scores the elite special operations unit required. He overcame and with a lot of work, his perseverance paid off.  His is an inspiring story of true personal transformation. At every turn, including throughout his naval career, Adeleke found a way to overcome the odds, even when it didn't make sense.  RESOURCES: Pick up Remi's new book TRANSFORMED Follow Remi on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
