The Ontario government is currently discussing a new bill that would require all children under the age of 12 to wear a life jacket when on a boat. Currently, there is no law in Ontario that mandates the use of life jackets, including for children. However, Canadian law requires that all watercraft have life jackets or personal flotation devices for every individual on board.
