Since that time Dave has done more research on the mysterious origins of Freemasonic symbolism and has concluded that at least some of what is classified as being "Freemasonic" today actually had it's origins in the medieval Cathars and the persecuted remnant that was being hunted down by the Inquisition because they possessed secrets about the true nature of the 1st century Apostolic religion. According to this view, most of what we have been told about the beliefs of the Cathars,ect. is actually Roman Catholic propaganda and it's very difficult to know for certain about their true belief system.
