During his graduate studies at MIT, Matt worked with Bob Sauer and Tania Baker on AAA+ proteases in bacteria. As a postdoc at the University of Chicago with Bob Keenan, he used structural biology to study quality control of membrane proteins.Outside of lab, Matt enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his wife, three children, and two dogs. He can often be found backpacking, running, or working in his garden.
