Lightning Bolt Transfer Shines for Cyclones | Iowa State Cyclones Basketball News

Lightning in a small package: Iowa State’s new receiver Omari Hayes, a five-foot-nine speedster from Tulane, is poised to electrify the field with his quick hands and explosive plays. Despite the team’s run-first approach, Hayes and fellow transfers like Cody Jackson and Evan Boyd are injecting vital experience into a deep but unproven receiver room. Working alongside veteran QB Jaylen Raynor, they’re pushing each other to compete — and Hayes, who values teamwork over stats, believes he can make big plays when it matters most. With players like Jordyn Bailey and Ty Claiborne also vying for snaps, the real test begins Sept. 5 against Southeast Missouri State — where Hayes is ready to prove he’s more than just a flash in the pan.
