Lightning Strikes Off-Duty Deputy | Miami News

A wild lightning strike in Doral hit a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue building—and took out an off-duty Sheriff’s deputy sitting in his patrol car. Emergency crews rushed to the scene as he was airlifted to the hospital with trauma injuries. Though he’s now in stable condition, the incident serves as a chilling reminder: even inside a vehicle, nature’s fury can strike without warning—especially when first responders are still on duty, off the clock.
