Lights out -- Floresville mayor ends meeting

[Video below] A meeting of the Floresville City Council came to an abrupt end July 22, after two councilmen departed the meeting early; shortly after, Mayor Gloria Morales Cantu — without a vote from the remaining councilmen — terminated the meeting with a bang of her gavel. Moments later, the lights went out over residents who were attempting to gather their belongings and leave. These actions were preceded by an executive session at the start of the meeting, followed by a lengthy public comment period and discussion from the council regarding the state of the city of Floresville.
