Visit us at www.ProjectLikkuteiTorah.com for more resources and sponsorship opportunities.כי ביום הזה יכפר עליכם (כה, ג)יום הכיפורים הוא זמן התשובה, ענין התשובה הוא להשיב הנפש למקורה כמו שהיתה לפני שירדה למטה. וצריך להבין למה ירדה הנשמה למטה, להיות לה ירידה גדולה, ובפרט שכל הדרכים בחזקת סכנה. ויובן בהקדים ענין "כי ה' אלוקיך אש אוכלה הוא", שכמו שהאש צריך לפתילה, כך הנה "לאו אורחין דמלכא לאישתעי במילין דהדיוטא", דהעשרה מאמרות הם מילין דהדיוטא, והמשכת אוא"ס בעולם הוא ע"י התורה ומצוות שהם ממשיכים את האור שלא יסתלק למעלה.ב. והנה כלל כל המצוות הם תורה תפילה וצדקה, שהם כנגד עולמות בי"ע, דתפילה היא במחשבה, תורה היא בחי' דיבור (דמפני שהתורה היא למעלה יותר מתפילה לכך היא באה למטה יותר בבחי' דיבור), וצדקה היא בבחי' מעשה. והנה, בג' דברין אלו אנו ממשיכים את אוא"ס למטה, אל אנו רואים שאור הנאחז בעצים - במעשה - נעשה ריבוי אור אך האור הוא גס יותר, ואור הנאחז בפתילה הוא אור מועט אך הוא אור דק, דהשראת השכינה במחשבה היא רוחנית דקה מרוחניות הנמשך ומתפשט בבחי' מעשה (וזהו "בודקין את החמץ לאור הנר", אור הנר דוקא), אלא שבבחינת המעשה והדיבור התפשטות האור הוא הרבה וניכר פעולותיו. ג. והנה, האש אינו יכול להיאחז בפתילה אלא ע"י כיליון הפתילה, כך א"א לאור ה' להיאחז למטה אלא ע"י הביטול, בחי' יעקב וישראל אתכפיא ואתהפכא. וזהו אני כברוש רענן, שע"י שמשפילים את הברוש הנה עי"ז עולה הרבה למעלה אח"כ. אך עד"ז הוא בבחי' זה לעומת זה שע"י הרעה נאמר ואת נפש אויבך יקלענה בתוך כף הקלע, והעצה לזה הוא התשובה, דעיקר התשובה הוא לבטל רצונו איליו ית' שיהי' לו רצון אחד לאביו שבשמים. וע"י שיתבונן על הירידה הגדולה מאור פניו ית' הנה עי"ז יתמרמר נפשו ונגעה עד נקודת הלב ממש שיכלה נפשו ולבבו וישוב אל ה'. וע"י התשובה מאהבה רבה זו הנה הזדונות נעשו כזכיות,שכשם שע"י הזכיות תתעלה נפשו כך תתעלה נפשו ע"י המרירות הגדולה הזאת.ד. כי הנה במשה כתיב "ושמתיך בנקרת הצור", ד"צור" קאי על שורש ההוי' שממנו יוצא שורש ההוי', ע"ד שהצור הוא מקור לאש, שכשנכבה האש הנה מוציאים את האש מהצור, ועד"ז הוא בענין התשובה שהתשובה מגיעה למעלה משם הוי', ע"ד ר"א בו דורדיא שיצתה בת קול שהוא מזומן לחיי עוה"ב אף שלא הי' בידו מעשים טובים. אך לא כל אדם זוכה לזה ולכן אנו מבקשים "השיבנו ה' אלוקיך". ואף שבכלל הנה באתעדל"ת תליא מילתא, מ"מ אנו מבקשים "חדש ימינו כקדם" - כמו שהי' בתחילת הבריאה. ולכן נאמר "כי ביום הזה יכפר", "יכפר" סתם ואינו מזכיר שם הוי' כי הכפרה הוא למעלה משם הוי'.
