Lilliesleaf Farm Special Broadcast

from African Dialogue · host Channel Africa

In a few days, South Africa and the world will commemorate the 100 years since the birth of international icon Nelson Mandela. South Africa holds many historical sites that reflect it’s dark yet rich history, Channel Africa visited Lilliesleaf Farm in Rivonia – a chapter of our history that would soon lead to the world casting its eyes on the apartheid struggle. To help us look at the history of Lilliesleaf we have :• George Bizos, who represented Walter Sisulu and Nelson Mandela in both Treason and Rivonia Trial. He appeared in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission representing families of killed heroes of South Africa's liberation struggle.• Sir Nicholas Wolpe, CEO of Liliesleaf and the son of Harold Wolpe, who was arrested soon after the police raid on Liliesleaf.
