AFTER DARK | The Lindsay Clancy Case: A Mother, Three Children & The Questions That Remain 🖤 Welcome back to After Dark. On January 24, 2023, a tragedy unfolded inside a family home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, that would shock the world and spark a difficult conversation about motherhood, mental health, and criminal responsibility. Lindsay Clancy, a labour and delivery nurse and mother of three, was accused of killing her children: five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan. All three children died, and Lindsay survived a serious suicide attempt that left her with life-changing injuries. But as investigators pieced together what happened, a much bigger question emerged: Was this a case of deliberate murder, or did a severe psychiatric crisis play a role in an unimaginable tragedy? Lindsay's defence argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions. Prosecutors argued that she understood what she was doing and should be held accountable. In September 2026, after weeks of testimony and seven days of deliberations, the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. A mistrial was declared, leaving the case without a final verdict. In this episode of After Dark, we're looking at the timeline, Lindsay's reported mental health struggles, the evidence presented in court, the competing arguments, and the unanswered questions surrounding this heartbreaking case. Because behind every headline are real people, a grieving family, and three little lives that deserve to be remembered. ⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: This episode discusses the deaths of children, suicide, and severe mental health struggles.
