Lindsay Clancy Trial: Nurse Practitioner Reveals Bipolar Diagnosis Talk Before the Killings

from Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary · host True Crime Today

Rebecca Jollotta, the psychiatric nurse practitioner certified by Postpartum Support International, went back on the stand today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She's pleaded not guilty, and her attorney Kevin Reddington is building an insanity defense around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication. After the morning recess, Jollotta picked up where she left off, walking jurors through an ongoing stream of MyChart messages between herself and Clancy. She testified that at a December 6, 2022 appointment — one Patrick Clancy attended alongside his wife — she raised the possibility of an underlying bipolar disorder. Jollotta said she was worried enough about Clancy's mental state that she wanted to see her every single week. And in a detail that's going to sit heavy with anyone following this case: Jollotta testified Lindsay did report suicidal ideation, just never on the days Jollotta was actually in the room to hear it.Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Patrick Clancy was out of the home running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court, is expected to run several more weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
