Lindsay Clancy Trial: Patrick Clancy Testifies — The Medication Timeline Nobody Followed

from Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary · host True Crime Today

Patrick Clancy, husband of Lindsay Clancy, took the stand today in the murder trial of the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty and is mounting an insanity defense, with attorney Kevin Reddington arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication at the time of the killings.Patrick walked jurors through a timeline that's supposed to explain how his wife went from new mother to someone psychiatrists were allegedly cycling through medication after medication, adjustment after adjustment, in the weeks before the killings. The detail that's going to stick with people: several of those prescriptions were reportedly taken only a handful of times before being swapped out or discontinued — a system, allegedly, that kept changing the plan faster than anyone could tell if it was working. He also described what he says were the family's attempts to get her real help, for whatever that's worth against what actually happened.Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Patrick was out of the home running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court, is expected to last several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
