Lindsay Clancy Trial The Basics You Need To Know Before Jury Selection On 7:20:26

from Pretty Lies And Alibis · host GiGi McKelvey

Attn: Jury selection WILL NOT be live streamed. We will pick up if they go on the record or when openings begin. The trial of Lindsay Clancy is set to begin with jury selection on July 20, 2026, in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse, is accused of killing her three young children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 7-month-old Callan—inside the family’s Duxbury home on January 24, 2023. She has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder.Prosecutors allege Lindsay deliberately planned the killings, including sending her husband, Patrick Clancy, out of the house to pick up dinner before strangling the children with exercise bands. Afterward, Lindsay allegedly injured herself and jumped from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed. The defense does not dispute that Lindsay caused the children’s deaths but argues that she was legally insane at the time. Her attorneys say she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, experiencing hallucinations and taking numerous psychiatric medications in the weeks before the tragedy. They claim Lindsay heard a male voice directing her to kill the children and herself. Prosecutors, however, are expected to argue that her actions before and after the killings demonstrate planning, awareness and intent.Patrick Clancy is expected to testify for the defense. He has publicly forgiven his wife and has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against some of her healthcare providers, alleging that failures in her mental-health treatment and medication management contributed to the deaths of their children. At the center of the trial will be one deeply difficult question: Was this a calculated act of murder, or was Lindsay Clancy experiencing a severe psychiatric crisis that left her unable to understand the nature or wrongfulness of her actions?Subscribe for complete coverage of the Lindsay Clancy trial, including courtroom testimony, evidence, expert analysis and daily trial recaps. This case involves allegations that have not yet been decided by a jury. Lindsay Clancy is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.Donate: (Thank you for your support!
