Especially with instant online video. But even more important, you miss a chance to develop habits and muscle memory when you act like the alarm is false. Ty Wheeler says every fire alarm can be an opportunity. He advocates an approach called Lines Off, Ladders Up.Ty is a lieutenant with the Johnston-Grimes Iowa Metropolitan Fire Department with more than 10 years’ service. He has a managing officer certificate from the National Fire Academy and is a member of the Iowa Society of Fire Service Instructors.
