This is the start of a new story set in the same world as Sabriel, and it follows nearly 15 years after the events of the previous book. There's a lot of mystery surrounding just who Lirael is, and I'm of course low-key wanting her to be related to Sabriel in some way. Meanwhile, there's some new torment on the horizon, as a dude surfaces who apparently can harness a dark power even stronger than Kerrigor's. Me no lilkey.
