Thank you so much to Ashleigh for commissioning this episode! These chapters are the ones in which Sameth and Lirael finally meet up with one another, and it's not exactly a meet cute, since they both do not trust one another and their pets don't even get along. But first, Lirael has a run-in with Hedge, the creepy AF necromancer that almost got to Sameth and who already did get to poor Nicholas. This is the one thing that she and Sameth can bond over, and yet despite Sameth's apparent concern for his friend Nicholas, he's still low-key planning to chill at the Abhorsen house and let Lirael go on by her lonesome because he's just that big a traitor at this point.
