from BBC Radio Foyle · host BBC Radio Foyle

About 50 teachers have held a protest in Guildhall Square calling for a scheme to provide jobs for newly qualified teachers to be extended to anyone without a permanent job. In December the education minister John O'Dowd announced the creation of 500 jobs for teachers with three years experience or less - but the protest group Equal Rights For Teachers says it bars more than 2,000 experienced teachers from applying. Freya McClements reports.
