Pat Hume, the wife of Nobel Peace Prize winner John Hume, has spoken for the first time about his battle with dementia. She told RTÉ's Sunday with Miriam programme that her husband's illness had deteriorated since he became ill in the late 90s and he now struggled to remember day-to-day events.
