Listen, Honey! Spring Has Sprung and Things Are A Brewin'!

from Listen, Honey · host Katie Combs

Listen, Honey! We're back at the house this week and are workin' honey! Lucy and I have been tending to the baby chicks which are getting their adult feathers in, we've put up some birdfeeders because Momma will feed them birds, now. We've been sitting in our camper chairs in the garage with our binoculars learning bird species. One thing I have learned is that Blue Jay females make their husbands go get their food, honey! Or at least that's what I'm telling myself. These things are wilder than hell.  Now, things were off for a few weeks at the house. There was just a weird vibe going on so I felt the need to sage the house. My Granny was part Cherokee and she believed in that as much as prayin'. And the next two days after, I saw signs that it worked. You'll have to watch the episode to hear the proof! We've also been getting the garden going. And eating popsicles. I've also been reflecting on my motherhood journey and am so grateful God gave me Lucy. Motherhood has made me a better woman, it's brought out my feminine side, and given me permission to just be a girly girl with my baby.  On that note, Mother's Day is coming up, y'all. Do something nice for yourself and have a happy and wonderful Mother's Day. I've got a lot going on right now behind the scenes so I'm going to take a couple weeks off of the regular podcast schedule, but you can expect us back May 22nd with an interview with singer-songwriter Hunter Flynn.  But enjoy this episode of the podcast, honey!  I'll see you soon right back here and, of course, somewhere this summer on my Hillbilly Tour Bus! The camper is almost ready to hit the road. I'm gonna need it, too. You can find me this summer at Laurel Cove June 11-12. Then the next day (June 13) I'm heading to Wise, Va., for the Kentucky-Virginia District Fair. July 10-11 I'll be in Ashland at the Rock the Country event. Then I'll be at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, Ky., the next weekend. One of my favorite events is the Manchester Music Fest September 3-5. Then, in October, I'll be in Pikeville, Ky., for the Mountain Grrl Experience. Y'all are gonna have to come see the Listen, Honey Hillbilly Tour Bus! Of course, I'm still holding steady on my weight loss journey with Amble. I've lost 80 pounds! Sign up and join the journey at joinamble.com.  Listen, Honey!
