You'll be casting ballots in August in Missouri on Amendment One, an extension of Missouri’s parks, soils and water sales tax. Missouri voters approved a constitutional amendment in 1984 that created the tax, which is earmarked specifically for the state park system and efforts to stop soil erosion. Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) director Kurt Schaefer joined hosts Stephanie Bell and Jennifer Bukowsky live on 939 the Eagle's "Wake Up Missouri", saying the tax generates about $136-milllion annually. 50 percent of that goes to Missouri state parks and 50 percent of it go to the soil and water conservation program:
