Missouri Treasurer Vivek Malek (R) has led the effort in Jefferson City to divest from China. He's been pushing Vanguard on the issue as well. Vanguard, the world's second-largest investment firm, has filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to launch its first-ever emerging market fund that deliberately excludes Chinese equities.
