Katana will interview Executive Director and President of Beyond Basics, Pamela Good.Join us as we’ll discuss:The need for literacy for children in Metropolitan Detroit.The solution: we get children reading at grade level in 6 weeks.How to be the solution, including ways to get involved.Pamela Good is cofounder and serves as the Executive Director of Beyond Basics, a 501(c)(3) literacy based child-centered organization since 2002. In 1999, she volunteered to help with a coat drive benefitting students attending a Detroit public school. Beyond Basics runs a suite of literacy programs where students achieve grade level movement in reading within six weeks of one-on-one tutoring. Students also gain a multitude of tools for future success by participating in literacy enrichment programs designed to cultivate a love of learning and curiosity.
