Little Jean

"Little Jean" follows a poor orphan boy cared for by a cold, ungrateful aunt in a wintry village, who hears the words "Peace on earth, good will to men" sung in church for the first time — and feels something shift inside him. On his walk home through the snow, Jean encounters a barefoot child sleeping on a frozen stone step and makes a small, costly choice that costs him supper and earns him a slap.
