The tenth commandment reaches beneath outward behaviour to expose coveting as discontent with God’s care and a form of idolatry. The diagnosis is not the final word. Because Christ makes sinners right with God and cannot be taken from them, contentment can grow in plenty or need. Trust in His provision frees His people to pursue His commands.
