The resolution to support an Executive Order on Reparations passed unanimously with over 1,000 Delegates voting in favor at the Washington State Democratic Convention June 29, 2024.*Hayward Evans, Co Convener, Seattle King County Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration/Continuation Committee (MLKCC) provides an update on the activities for 61st Anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.*Derrick Wheeler-Smith and Dominic Davis pays tribute to their late father, Reverend Arthur Douglas Wheeler Jr. who had many accomplishments in his life working as a Mediator for the King County Prosecutors Office, the Seattle Police Department as assistant director of the Victim's Assistance Unit and with NOVA as a Grief Crisis Counselor handling high-profile cases. In 1982 he became principal of Zion Christian School which later became Zion Prep Academy.*Mian Rice, Director, Port of Seattle's Diversity Contracting Office provides an update on the accomplishments of his office and informs prospective business owners of opportunities. He will also comment on his work with Kenny Lyles who is retiring from the port after 40 years of service.
