The resolution to support an Executive Order on Reparations passed unanimously with over 1,000 Delegates voting in favor at the Washington State Democratic Convention June 29, 2024.*Hayward Evans, Co Convener, Seattle King County Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration/Continuation Committee (MLKCC) provides an update on the activities for 61st Anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.*Derrick Wheeler-Smith and Dominic Davis pays tribute to their late father, Reverend Arthur Douglas Wheeler Jr. who had many accomplishments in his life working as a Mediator for the King County Prosecutors Office, the Seattle Police Department as assistant director of the Victim's Assistance Unit and with NOVA as a Grief Crisis Counselor handling high-profile cases. In 1982 he became principal of Zion Christian School which later became Zion Prep Academy.*Mian Rice, Director, Port of Seattle's Diversity Contracting Office provides an update on the accomplishments of his office and informs prospective business owners of opportunities.
