Live Like Mountain Folk - 7/4/21 - Fasting

from Dungeness Community Church - VIDEO · host Dungeness Community Church

Join Pastor Tim as he explores Jesus' teachings from Sermon on the Mount with his series "Live Like Mountain Folk." This week he explores the biblical meaning of fasting. Discussion and Reflection: ------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Have you ever tried fasting? If so, was it for spiritual or health reasons? What was it like? 2. How do you think Christians today can be tempted to act spiritual? 3. Have you ever been in situation where you felt pressure either to act or not act in a certain way during corporate worship? 4. Jesus warned about doing “spiritual things” for show. He also, a little later in this same sermon (Matthew 7:1) warned about judging others – which could include making judgments about the motives of others who may worship differently than we do. How do we guard both our actions and our hearts to ensure that we are worshipping in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24)? ------------------------------------------------------------ Find Dungeness Community Church on the web: https://dcchurch.org https://www.facebook.com/DungenessCommunityChurch https://www.instagram.com/dcc.sequim   Dungeness Community Church in Sequim, WA
