Join Pastor Tim as he explores Jesus' teachings from Sermon on the Mount with his new series "Live Like Mountain Folk." This week he explores the difference between judgement and discernment, by looking at Matthew 7:1-6. Discussion and Reflection: ------------------------------- 1. Can you think of a situation where you made a snap judgement about someone and later discovered you were completely wrong? 2. Suppose you have a friend who you discover is cheating on the job. When you try to approach him about his behavior, he responds by saying, “You say you’re a Christian. Why are you judging me?” How would you respond? 3. Jesus warned about people who were good at spotting specks in others’ eyes but remained blind to the planks in their own. Have you ever become aware of a “plank-in-the-eye” type issue in your life? What was it like making that discovery? How did it change you? 4. What do you think of Jesus' advice about not casting pearls before swine?
