Join Pastor Tim as he explores Jesus' teachings from Sermon on the Mount with his new series "Live Like Mountain Folk." This week he explores the meaning of "The Golden Rule" by looking at Matthew 7:12.   Discussion and Reflection: ------------------------------------------ 1. How do you think this command to do to others as we would want others to do to us ties into the rest of Jesus’ sermon? What are the connections? 2. Do you own comparison and contrast between the statement of Rabbi Shammai (“What is hateful to you, do not do to anyone else.”) and Jesus (“Whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them.”). 3. Pick one particular relationship where you find it challenging to know how – or even to want to – show love to other person. Try to think specifically how you would want to be shown love if you were in their position. How could you show some of that love this week? 4. Reflect a bit on Jesus prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane (““My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”).
