Join Pastor Tim as he explores Jesus' teachings from Sermon on the Mount with his new series "Live Like Mountain Folk." This week he explains why we've chosen not to "pass the plate." What might be some examples in our own time of people doing generous things more to be noticed than to be helpful? 2. In discussing what Jesus meant when He said we shouldn’t let our left hand know what our right hand is doing, Pastor Tim talked about “self-hypocrisy”. What did he mean by that? 3. In trying to reconcile what Jesus said in Matthew 5:4 vs 5:16, A.B. Bruce said that Jesus was saying we should “show when tempted to hide” and “hide when tempted to show.” What did he mean by that? Everyone is different – do you find yourself more tempted to hide or show for the wrong reasons? 4. Pastor Tim suggested 4 tests that may be help us determine if our giving is rightly motivated.
