There was a time when the God of the universe, who lives in unapproachable light, did not exist in human form. The only way a person could get close to God was through the high priest, who served in the presence of God at the temple in Jerusalem. One night in a town not far from the temple, everything changed. God came down. He took on human flesh and blood. He moved into our neighbourhood. How did he do it, and more importantly, why? Why does the eternal Son of God, the One who created the universe, have fingernails like us? Might his flesh be the thing that convinces us that he doesn't just love us, He actually likes us?
