He references 1 John 4:21 to remind us that as God is, so are we in this world, and when we've got the knowledge of Christ's perfect love for us, it drives away fear from our hearts. He also leads us to Colossians 2:11-18 to instruct that we're alive when we're in Christ, for having wiped out the written commandant and nailed it to the cross, He disarmed principalities and powers, triumphing over them and making a public spectacle of them, thus, we must not let anyone strip us of our reward in Christ Jesus. 1 John 5 also explains that whatever is born of Christ overcomes the world by faith, for our faith is the power that brings the world to its knees.  In addition, Joseph explains that Jesus is our righteousness, and everyone who's in Christ Jesus is empowered to stand against the nefarious plan of the enemy, for our faith remains the power that brings the world to its knees.
