Joey Battaino joined the team prior to the 2015-16 season after two years in Odessa, Texas and four years in Flint, Michigan. Battaino served as the teams Director of Broadcasting and Communications for six seasons and was promoted to Vice President of Communications and Broadcasting in July 2021. Battaino has called over 700 hockey games at various levels in his 12-year broadcasting career. He was the voice of the final International Hockey League Turner Cup Championship series in 2010 for B2 Networks and was selected by the North American Hockey League as the voice of their Top Prospects Game three times (2010, 2011, 2012). Battaino is a graduate of the Specs Howard School of Media Arts, with a degree in Television Broadcasting.
