Living A Focused Life For Maximum Momentum

from Victory Church Jbay · host Louis Els

Colossians 3:1-2 [NIV]Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.A focused life is a Christ-centred life. When we lose sight of Jesus and the cross, grace, and what He has done, sacred things become secular arguments. A focused life is a life that lives out of a heart of gratitude. A scripture that speaks of gratitude is Psalm 100:2 [NIV], which says, Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. If we want to live with a sense of momentum, we need to carry in our hearts a clear Kingdom mandate. When we have a clear Kingdom mandate, we understand stewardship and know where to focus our energy. People who are focused and live with momentum are generous. They realize that what they have is because of the grace of God, and therefore live to bless others, encourage and empower them because they see the bigger picture. Living a focused life for maximum momentum demands that we live in humility! A scripture that touches on humility is 1 Peter 5:5-6 [NIV] which says, In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. For us as a Kingdom people, the way forward is the way of humility as we link arms with those around us.
