Passage: Ephesians 4:25-5:7 - Sermon Quick Notes - Fundamental Identity of the Church: a. We are people "marked by truth" b. We are created to "display His divinity" c. We are made to be intensely, intimately, and intentionally "united to one another" d. We are to be "strengthened by power through the Holy Spirit" e. We are to "live a new life as people marked by Him" The main characteristic of this new life is - love (Ephesians 5:2) a. Because He first loves us b. Because He gave His life for us What does a life that is marked by Him (a reflection of Him) look like? a. By the way we treat other people (Ephesians 4:25-28, 31-32) b. By giving part of oneself away (4:28-29) c. By holding to God's standards (5:3-6) What can you do as imperfect people reflecting a perfect God? a. Know that you belong to God (Ephesians 4:31) b. Recognize that God has forgiven you (4:32) c. Allow God to express His love through you (5:8-9)
