Living A Non-Linear Life: Cultivating Resilience, Endurance & Radical Trust

from Raw Conversations with Corinne Blum · host Corinne Blum

Life isn’t linear, but cyclical and sometimes squiggly. It isn’t a constant forward and upward moving line, either. It ebbs and flows. It travels across various terrains. Sometimes it’s easeful and we’re riding a nice, long wave to the shore, and in other moments it’s tempestuous. Cultivating resilience and endurance is learning how to dance with life. Knowing that we’re in partnership with life, the Universe, God (choose your word). We’re co-creating this experience as we go along. But if we get too rigid in our ideas that life ‘should’ and ‘has to’ go in a particular way, the 5 year plan, the 10 year plan, and then life all of a sudden doesn’t happen that way, we get easily thrown. We wonder what’s wrong. We question why. But life was never predictable, or controllable, or linear in the first place. Radical trust starts with our relationship with ourselves. Building our unique language with ourselves, learning to listen and then learning to trust what we hear. Navigating life is about bringing these three together: resilience, endurance, trust. Knowing that they a part of the dance, all of which require our presence, self-awareness and the willingness to flow with life rather than resist against it. Tune in for more as I dive into what the inner work that we need to do is, how we can become our own obstacle, redefining the way we view life and the questions we can ask ourselves along the way.
